The Fotsis group is interested in the molecular mechanisms regulating Angiogenesis and Vasculogenesis. They bring expertise in metabolic regulation and mTOR signalling to project NEUROMET.

Dr. Chalkiadaki is a neurobiologist with a mixed background in the anlaysis of rodent models of neurological disease and iPSC-derived brain organoids models, using molecular, cellular and physiological analysis.

Research in the Gkogkas group focuses on the study the neurobiological basis of complex brain disorders using rodent models and human pluripotent cell-based models, with the aim to develop novel therapeutics.

NEUROMET project
Translational Control via mTORC1. Signaling pathways upstream of translation initiation containing the mTORC1 pathway (orange) and the parallel MAPK/ERK/MNK pathway (brown). Both pathways converge on initiation of protein synthesis by the cap-binding protein eIF4E.
